K2 Electric was awarded the full electrical scope for the Blackwater Gold Mine in partnership with Lheidli T’enneh First Nation and Falcon Contracting Inc. The project involved delivery of essential infrastructure to support operations at one of BC’s newest open-pit gold mines. Our scope included installation of medium- and low-voltage power systems, underground cabling, control infrastructure, and system grounding across multiple site locations. The work was delivered under tight timelines and challenging logistics typical of remote, high-volume industrial developments.
We collaborated closely with First Nations partners to support local employment and training opportunities, reinforcing our commitment to inclusive project delivery. K2 coordinated installation of all electrical systems to ensure readiness for mechanical commissioning, including power supply to critical systems such as pumping stations and control centers. With strong on-site coordination and integration of vendor-supplied equipment, the project demonstrated our capacity to deliver turnkey electrical installations at scale. K2’s efforts helped establish the power backbone of this major mining facility, contributing to its safe and timely launch
