K2 Electric was engaged by BC Hydro to deliver a multi-year lighting upgrade and replacement program across numerous facilities throughout British Columbia. The project involved the systematic removal and replacement of legacy PCB-containing lighting systems with modern, energy-efficient alternatives. Work was completed across a range of operational environments including substations, generation stations, telecommunications stations, and NIA sites, requiring careful coordination and planning to ensure continuity of operations within active utility infrastructure sites.
Acting as Prime Contractor, K2 Electric was responsible for overall project management, material procurement, scheduling, and field execution. Our team coordinated all aspects of the work, from sourcing specialized lighting systems to managing site logistics and installation across multiple locations. Through disciplined planning and collaboration with BC Hydro stakeholders, the project was delivered safely and efficiently while supporting the modernization of critical infrastructure across the utility’s network.
