K2 Electric was proud to deliver the civil construction scope for the Winnipeg Street sinkhole remediation project—an urgent infrastructure repair following multiple roadway failures caused by a collapsed storm sewer system. Our team performed deep excavation and dewatering to access the compromised area, then supplied and installed large precast concrete components to form a new stormwater chamber and connecting pipe network. The replacement system addressed chronic failures stemming from deteriorated corrugated metal pipe, offering a durable long-term solution.
 

Working within a constrained urban corridor, the project required careful coordination for the precision crane placement of heavy precast structures. Following underground installations, K2 completed full surface restoration including utility tie-ins, sidewalks, curbs, and asphalt paving. Special attention was given to site safety and traffic management throughout the work. Completed in 2019, the project successfully stabilized the affected roadway and restored safe access along a critical transportation route in the City of Prince George.
